CODSOPENSU-Peaceful protest against DESOPADEC bursary

This is to inform all students from the Oil Producing Ethnic Nationalities under the umbrella of Confederation Of Delta State Oil Producing Ethnic Nationalities Students Union (CODSOPENSU) that we will be staging a peaceful protest against Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) over the refusal to pay students the annual DESOPADEC bursary which was paid last in 2018.

The present leadership of CODSOPENSU have been pleading with the board to pay the bursary since 2019 and nothing meaningful have been done, the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa , has also given the board an order to pay the bursary yet nothing have been done as well.

We can no longer take this oppression and segregation, this bursary is our right as students from the oil producing areas in Delta State.

The protest will be taking place on Wednesday 13th January, 2021. Our meeting point is Rice Farm , along Esisi road Warri , Delta State.

All members of the following associations: National Association of Delta Ijaw Students (NADIS), National Association of Itsekiri Students (NAIS), National Association of Ika Students (NAIS), Federated Union of Ndokwa Students (FUNS), National Union of Urhobo Students (NUUS) and National Union of Isoko Students (NUIS) should come and in their numbers as we take to the streets of Warri to demonstrate our displeasure over the non payment of the DESOPADEC BURSARY .
